I have the honour to forward for your appro-

val the enclosed paper of particulars relating to the ser- vice of Mr. F. J. Machado, First Clerk at the Harbour Depart- ment, and to recommend with the concurrence of the Members of Executive Council, that a pension at the rate of $1,696

per annum be granted to him as from 1st. August, 1898.

Mr. Machado will draw his pension locally.
